Canadian anti-spam legislation: impact on our communications with you and on your communications with your users

Canada's new anti-spam law was passed in  December 2010 and, following a Governor in Council order, it will enter into force on July 1, 2014.

Among others, three important elements of the law concern communications by email:

- Sending of commercial electronic messages (CEM) can be done only with the explicit or tacit recipient's consent;

- The CEM must provide identification information about the sender;

- The CEM must provide an unsubscribe mechanism enabling the recipient to revoke its consent.

As a client of Visard Solutions, the business link you have with us is considered a tacit consent. You can revoke this consent at any time by using the "To unsubscribe" link located at the bottom of all our informational messages sent to you.

This link takes you to your profile on our server, giving you the opportunity to subscribe/unsubscribe to our newsletters, and modify any other information about you.

Visard Solutions does not sell or share its customer information. Information about you is used only by us in the normal course of operations linking ourselves to you.

In what the new law affects YOUR operations?

If you use Kentika or Ajaris to disseminate information to your users, you may be subject to the law. We advise you to consult the website of the Government of Canada concerning the anti-spam legislation at http://www.fightspam.gc.ca.

Our team is at your disposal if you deem it necessary to make adjustments to the messages generated by Kentika / Ajaris.
