Although not being optimized for Windows 8 clean interface, Kentika usually work just as well as on earlier versions of Windows (Windows 7 & Windows XP), as well on desktop computer than on Tablet*.

To demonstrate its flexibility, we installed Windows 8 Professional x64 in virtualized mode under VMware Workstation 9.0.1 (host: Windows 7 Professional x64).

Several different configurations were used:

Kentika Standalone: Executable files and database in Windows 8

Kentika Standalone: Executable files in Windows 8, database on a Windows 7 shared disk

Kentika Standalone: Executable files on a Windows 7 shared disk, database in Windows 8

Kentika Standalone: Executable files and database on a Windows 7 shared disk

Kentika Client: Executable Files in Windows 8

Kentika Client: Executable files on a Windows 7 shared disk

In all cases, Kentika behaved perfectly normally!

* Note that Kentika is NOT compatible with tablets running Windows RT. The use of a physical keyboard and an external pointing device is recommended.
